For a brief period, some Deviant Art people were recreating cartoon characters in surreal/realistic styles. I jumped right on board. This is Leela from Futurama by way of a stock photo and a lot of Photoshop work.

With a LOT of apologies to John Berkey. I always loved his spaceships and it suddenly hit me that they looked like someone reassembled cruise ships and put them in space. So I did that. Not totally happy with the result but a fun experiment nonetheless. You can guess how this was made by now….

Similar to Reela Leela this is a surreal/photorealistic version of Cartman from South Park. OMG was this a lot of Photoshop work and a bunch of stock photos. If memory serves me, the eyes are cueballs and the shoe soles are a radial tire tread.

A gag poster/postcard from the times when Gateway Computers owned Amiga Computers. One of Gateway’s addresses was Dakota Dunes and the concept for a rural beach was born. Lots of stock photos, vintage photo, and a tiny bit of 3D.

A different April Fools gag. Took a public domain vintage image of an Oracle computer room and colorized it and changed it to use Amiga computer iconography. The intention is to simulate old post card styles.

Created for our local haunted house’s portrait gallery. Manipulated a classic portrait 1570s Clelia Farnese by Jacopo Zucchi. Altered expression, skin, color balance and added lots and lots of snakes.
